South Yorkshire Filmmakers’ Network
The North’s largest filmmakers’ network, based in Sheffield.
Founded in 2004, the South Yorkshire Filmmakers’ Network (SYFN) is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes and enables filmmaking and film-based networking across South Yorkshire. As the largest filmmakers' network in the North of England, they are dedicated to connecting local talent with the crew, opportunities, and resources they need to bring their projects to life.
Throughout the year, SYFN hosts a rich programme of events, including monthly short film screenings, networking meetups, and competitions such as 2Weeks 2Make It. Their Showroom Shorts screening at the Showroom Cinema in Sheffield is the longest-running monthly film night in the country. Members can also benefit from one-to-one support and advice sessions, access to exclusive partner discounts, a weekly news bulletin, and affordable equipment hire.
SYFN also offers an affordable, high-quality film production service, shooting in HD or 4K to suit a range of budgets.
The network is co-founded and run by Rob Speranza, a notable producer and director in the region, supported by Co-Directors Colin Pons and Daren Eagles.
